Hear Stine Aabenhus talk about her family's African trip to the Masai Mara in Kenya

Here, Stine Aabenhus gives a practical account of the day-to-day experience from departure to return home

I have always traveled as a backpacker, and arranged transport and accommodation myself from day to day. This year I wanted to experience the safety and relaxation of letting others arrange it all for me, and that then became Fair Track Safari's task. I frankly admit, that I have been a difficult customer, decided late to approve details of the trip (I had 7 different accommodations around Tanzania and Zanzibar) - and changed my wishes quite drastically along the way. But Eva handled all my change requests - and without extra costs. She was really available around the clock, and constantly followed up that everything worked. Fantastic to be held in the hand for a whole month. A well-deserved bouquet of flowers IS sent to Eva.

Safari i Masai Mara, Kenya

When I retired, I wanted to invite my children and grandchildren on a safari. I chose to let Fair Track Safari arrange the trip.

Our family of two adults and a 7-year-old girl chose last year (2018) to take nine weeks off the calendar and travel to South Africa and Mozambique. Eva and her travel company Fair Track Safari were a fantastic help in this regard, both before and during our trip. We spent, among other things, some wonderful days on safari with a skilled and nice guide arranged by Eva. In addition, Eva was never more than an email or a text away. "For our trip to Tanzania (four weeks with two kids), we were looking for a travel agency that operates on a small scale and is aimed at sustainability. We found this travel agency in Fair Track Safari. Since I have been to Tanzania before, I had strong ideas about where to go. But I did not want to arrange everything myself.

Eva listened to our wishes and was able to convert our wishes in concrete ideas. Together we found really nice accommodation and the 5 day safari was just what we wanted. Together with Eva, we composed the trip of our dreams. We would start at Zanzibar City, then go to Dar es Salaam, to the north for a safari, then to Mikumi and back to Zanzibar.

Unfortunately because of Covid-19 our flight was canceled and we had to cancel the whole trip. Eva was really cooperative, the cancellation and refund was smoothly handled. We really hope we can make the trip next year, of course with Fair Track Safari".
